This role will be responsible for providing the regions with content, services, tools and vision to execute the strategic and operational plans for growing the prepaid business, while continuously adjusting the strategy of the business according to the direction of market trends and company directives. This function will be a member of the core products prepaid hub team and will report to the head of prepaid products AP.
Responsibilities
- Managing the strategic prepaid initiatives and plans across AP markets by planning, coordinating and ensuring implementation of activities consistent with the established policies, goals and objectives.
- Identify growth opportunities and strategies for regional product teams to evaluate and execute the growth of the prepaid business in AP.
- Evaluate internal and external process for improvements in order to make Visa the preferred brand because of work efficiencies and ease of doing business with.
- Managing, collecting and distributing the priorities set by the focus markets to grow prepaid.
- Execute on defined product development efforts for strategic segments, as prioritized across AP, to enable core product differentiation, drive scheme preference and incremental revenues year-on-year. These would include
- Create content delivery models for, card holders benefits, issuer and merchant benefits
- Create educational services and tools for card holders, issuers and merchants
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with content service providers that can offer enhanced services and benefits to Visa cardholders, issuers and merchants
- Manage strategic infrastructure initiatives regarding increasing acceptance, load options leading to increased card usage.
- Coordinate operating rules, guidelines regulations and policy development for Visa Prepaid products.
- Align with Visa product groups in AP and functional units to ensure transparency of the Visa prepaid business direction in AP to display predictable business cadence for prepaid.
- Provide thought leadership throughout Visa prepaid regional/hub and country teams by driving the prepaid strategy and vision.
- Maintain global relationships within Visa Inc and Visa Europe to update them from a product direction and information sharing perspective, to increase global collaboration in order to build out the prepaid business as one company.
- Managing capital expenditure projects by executing and ensuring on- time on-budget roll out of such projects in line with Visa standards.
- Managing operational expenditure budgets according to forecast to ensure accuracy of spend.
- Maintain Visa’s prepaid business model by:
- constantly seeking feedback from stakeholders and the market for improvement
- regularly updating the models and distributing the new releases to the marke
- training new staff on the model
- Provide key input in the formulation and preparation of multi-year plan strategy.
- Closely align and communicate with peers in core product group to look for product synergies and economies of scale across the entire group that could grow the Visa prepaid business in AP.
- Act as mentor and coach in supporting the prepaid hub team members by collaborating cross functionally, leading by example and raising the standard of work and deliverables.
- Lead consumer research and regulatory research to support prepaid strategic initiatives.
- Represent Visa prepaid in AP at internal and external industry events to educate and inform audiences on the strategic direction and value of Visa prepaid.
Qualifications
- Professional or Advanced Professional degree (e.g. BS, MBA)
- 12-15 years in financial institutions or payments industry in the prepaid business.
- Broad knowledge and understanding of Visa’s systems and rules, VIOR framework, general AML rules, risk and revenue drivers.
- Experience in creating, developing and implementing content platforms and systems
- Regional and/or International work exposure and negotiation experience
- Extensive account and relationship management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Coordinating team player and thought leader qualities
- Strong analytical, numeric and commercial skills
- Extensive product and project management experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Project and Visio
- Executive presence and command
- Excellent presentation and written skills
- Financial and budget management experience
- Global travel may be required up to 25% of the time
