Job description
As we globalize marketing, it has increased the responsibility for the IO regional brand marketing team. We are needing to ensure that global strategies are developed comprehending regional input and then ensuring the strategies are consistently and effectively implemented across the region. The added responsibility has driven the need to restructure and expand the brand marketing team at IO headquarters. This role is instrumental to ensure the processes to implement global strategies are in place within our region. Specifically, this position is responsible for setting up and managing the appropriate processes such as annual marketing planning process, advertising production budgets and agency management processes for both creative and media agencies and manage brand marketing metrics. In addition, this position will lead processes/initiatives that cut across divisional brands (Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick, Opel, Baojun etc) and cut across car line nameplates (Spark, Cruze, Malibu, Colorado etc.) within GMIO region with focus on global sponsorship properties such as the Chevrolet global football platform.
This position will facilitate the integration across the CRM/Digital/Social team and the Advertising Mangers and ensure that the appropriate forum and processes are in place to ensure strong communications within IO Marketing and with the IO countries.
Lead annual marketing planning process for GMIO
Overall planning of GMIO brand marketing budget
Lead implementation of Chevrolet global advertising development process across IO markets in conjunction with advertising managers
Implement Chevrolet advertising governance within IO
Manage communication process – monthly marketing council calls, IO brand marketing monthly meetings, conferences
Manage brand marketing metric
Manage marketing input into BoD reports
Lead cross car line activities for the GMIO region
Act as global interface for IO markets in the region
Manage auto show processes to ensure consistent execution. Interface between the global team and local teams on the design, manage asset and resource sharing and allocation, share best practices and ensure consistent global standards are followed across the region to best present our global brands
Lead global sponsorship properties for the region and work with countries to appropriately leverage them. Key sponsorship platform global football platform (One World Futbol, Manchester United sponsorship, etc). Develop strategies for the region, interface with global team on country needs and resource allocation, support local activation in the countries.
Work with other departments to best leverage all resources and ensure information sharing and flow
Plan and oversee advertising production budget across the GMIO region, especially budget for creative development with Commonwealth
Manage agency planning, operations, evaluations and audit processes
Manage Shanghai-based regional advertising agency resources
Manage Commonwealth and Carat project updates
Support countries with brand marketing requirements for non- Chevrolet brands
Ensure information flow and best practices are shared across all brands
Desired Skills and Experience
Knowledge:
Advertising development process from consumer insight and strategy development to briefing, concept testing, production and final execution
Media strategy, planning and buying process
Understanding of marketing KPIs and the actions that drive KPI improvement
Skills:
High level of marketing and advertising experience, good marketing acumen, familiarity with various types of media – at least 10 years of experience
Experience in sponsorships and promotion activities
Experience managing advertising agencies
High level of creativity and ability to work within a complex business environment, understanding diverse needs and prioritizing requirements
High level of interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent English verbal and written skills
Experience/Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field
MBA strongly preferred
