PAC Director - The Coca-Cola Company - Singapore


Job description
To develop and execute Public Affairs and Communication strategies for the Singapore and Malaysia region and ensure clear deliverables those strategies. The position will focus on building relationships and Company presence in the local market, developing a communications strategy for the region liasing with bottling partner counter parts where appropriate. The job will focus on developing and implementing key public affairs and communications strategies to protect, defend and promote the Company’s name, promoting the company’s corporate social responsibility and building strong relations with bottling partners.

Prioritized Responsibilities

Build and deliver the strategic PAC plan for the region , effectively mapping and delivering a ‘campaign’ roadmap that will drive improvements in the companies external reputation. Influence and shape the operating environment to ensure positions adopted are consistent with Company objectives.
Build strong internal and external relationships with key stakeholders in institutions, media, community, government, customers and bottlers in order to increase their receptivity to the Company’s communications and in particular, to ensure support for KO’s business and brands in Singapore and Malaysia
Develop and execute communications strategies to support Company’s business objectives with key audiences (e.g. consumers, customers, bottlers, media, government, community leaders, employees, other constituents and stakeholders). Ensure effective communication on relevant business topics, events, procedures, processes, etc. to support business challenges, steward company culture and improve climate and collaboration.
Supervise brand public relations to ensure added value to brand equity, through activities that create strong connections between the brands and consumers’ values. Find innovative ways to position Coca-Cola in the minds of the community.
Develop and manage systems and processes to ensure appropriate timely actions in response to product quality compliance and other issues
Establish and effectively manage the resources and capability required (i.e. people, processes, systems, environment) to consistently deliver high-calibre results.


Analysis

Refresh 2020 and building our Licence to operate / social licence in Singapore has been identified as the No.1 Objective in the 2013 EBP, this role will lead this ‘Big Bet’ for the company. The role I a new position so the individual will need to determine what is needed, and problem solve the best solutions to drive the business plan outcomes.
Managing our reputation and our business in a high risk environment > highly capable to think through complex , multi layered reputational issues and translate into simple solutions.
Managing relationships across multiple markets, customs and government structures. Work often requires complex problem-solving.

Related Experience

Over 15 years of experience in Public Affairs, Government and Stakeholders Relations across multiple markets.
Strong understanding of Singapore and Malaysia heritage, economic, and political background
Strong understanding of Singapore and Malaysia’s public policy key decision making characters and process – especially within Singapore HPB.
Strong understanding of Global obesity trend
Strong people management and leadership capability
Ability to fully comprehend and deliver solutions for complex and technical matters such as nutrition, obesity, tax and trade reform.
