PayPal Financial Instruments team is looking for an experienced Director of Software Development to help architect and rewrite some of the core services. PayPal FI Team is responsible for delivering highly available, scalable and performance efficient core services. Requirements:
• You’ve led and run teams who have developed various high traffic backend services for external facing web applications.
• You have the ability to analyze complex issues and provide creative and optimal solutions.
• You’re an experienced technology leader who knows fundamentals of Java and the open source frameworks that can be used to build modern, scalable backend services.
• You’re a believer of Agile process and preach and practice SCRUM among all your teams.
• You can work with senior leaders in peer orgs to define a vision and strategy to deliver solutions faster that helps the group.
• You evangelize good software practices, code quality, efficient platform tools and technologies across all FI teams.
• You can mentor team managers and engineers to be grown as technical and domain leaders.
• You have in-depth technical knowledge to help steer technical conversation to guide teams to make the right technical decisions.
• You’ve experience building and architecting products that provide various solution options merely through configuration change for slight behavior modifications.
• You have experience in working across geographically distributed teams.
• You have at least 12 years of industry experience in a leadership role.
• You have at least a B.S in Computer Science or a related discipline.
