Responsibilities
Reporting to Head of Visa Analytics AP, the position of Senior Director – Visa Analytics (Cluster lead - Australasia, India & South Asia) is responsible for-
Delivering high quality data-driven analyses that provide key insights leading to actionable recommendations for the markets
Development of a strategic analytics vision aligned to business goals in the respective markets and executing with precision
Translate business problems into an appropriate analytical framework and generating insights
Execute on the analytic plan with appropriate data mining and analytic techniques
Develop and Deploy next-generation analytic techniques/tools to address business challenges
Manage multiple analytics requests and priorities at the same time
Work with senior leaders and business partners to understand critical business problems and areas of opportunity, influence to implement recommendations
Manage and execute projects independently from end-to-end; work with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams to deliver on these projects
Foster analytic competency to support and increasingly guide fact-based and timely decision-making
Be an SME and thought leader on analytics, enhancing Visa’s analytic capabilities, with a strong understanding of payment networks
Be an advocate for analytics inside and outside Visa
Identify and respond to analytics / data trends and opportunities
Champion the use of data-driven decision-making
A successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to lead, recruit, grow and retain high-calibre data science talent at scale. A track record of impact on business and tight collaboration with other teams is required.
We desire candidates who have grown into organisational leaders with strong professional achievements as a hands-on data scientist in payments, digital or related industries. Practical & business knowledge in machine learning, statistics and experience in implementing predictive systems on big data technologies is preferable.
A successful candidate must be a high impact executive with the ability to engage in high bandwidth conversations with business executives. S/he must be able to think broadly about Visa’s business and articulate and drive business value of data science initiatives.
Qualifications
In this role, the incumbent should have deep analytical, business and technical experience combined with strong management and leadership capabilities. Specific qualifications include:
Professional
12+ years of business experience, with a minimum of 10 years involved with analytics in banking / payments industry
Must have a deep understanding of card / payment business
Strong academic credentials
Strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize and organize data/information into actionable recommendations with clear customer and shareholder impact
Must be team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and written communication
Experience managing teams
Technical
Superior analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
Very strong project management skills and experience
Expert level Excel and PowerPoint
Hands on analytical tool experience in SAS, Tableau, Microstrategy or R (or equivalents) will be a strong advantage
Behavioral
Strong leadership and C-Suite communication skills
Experience in payments or related industry
Experience managing and working with geo-distributed team is a plus
Detail oriented - is expected to ensure highest level of quality/ rigor in analysis
Global mindset, desire and demonstrated ability to work cross-culturally and in a matrixed organization
Flexible and creative thinker with the ability to define business tradeoffs, generate out-of-the-box solutions and manage uncertainty

Academic
Degree in Statistics, Engineering, Quantitative Finance or Mathematics
MBA preferred
