Director Programming Sports Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific Singapore

Job Description:
The Director of Programming for Sports is responsible for the development of strategic planning and scheduling for the Sports portfolio within Discovery Networks’ diverse bouquet of content across various platforms, working closely with other key functions in SEA to achieve desired results.
Key point of contact for all sports related matters for the SEA business for both internal and external constituents, including rights acquisitions, distribution and advertising partners as well as sports federations and event organisers.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for all programming on the channels including content selection, acquisition strategy and program operations.
Develop and oversee the implementation of content strategy on all platforms
Communicate promotional priorities of key properties with marketing, communications, creative services, ad sales & affiliate teams
Understand and utilize research to identify opportunities across all platforms that strengthens viewership, enhances the brand, attracts advertisers, targeting key demographics.
Leverage knowledge of local markets to optimise program strategy and acquisition of key properties.
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor's / Master's degree and special qualification related to Media
8+ years’ experience in the field of Sports
Ability to analyze research data and other inputs in the formulation of programming strategies
Ability to amass and organize information
Excellent presentation and communication skills
Excellent negotiating skills
Natural leadership ability with strong interpersonal skills.
Highly organized, with attention to detail
High degree of adaptability to changes in the nature of the industry
