Channel Manager Trade Standard Chartered Bank Singapore

The Channel Manager, part of the channels transformation programme, will play an important role in development and commercialization of the bank’s Trade Finance capabilities. The role (which is at Director level) would be suited to a candidate with competency in the disciplines of both Product Management and Product Development. Working with both a strategic and a tactical focus, the suitable candidate will contribute to enhancing our clients’ digital experience and as a result help drive new transaction volumes into the bank. The individual will have the responsibility of reimagining the way trade services are offered to the bank’s clients via the electronic banking channel. The candidate will work closely with Trade Product organisation, Sales, Solution delivery, Technology, Regional Channel Managers, and will quickly establish yourself as the domain subject matter expert.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
Maintain awareness of relevant trends and developments in the market and in the bank’s products and services
Continuously evaluate the bank’s digital capabilities to identify and prioritise opportunities to grow volumes and revenue
Develop business cases for prioritised initiatives
Development and execution of key Trade solution / enhancements in Channels
Develop and deliver training to Implementation, Service and Sales teams for the above enhancements
Launch and commercialisation of key trade enhancements, including post implementation tracking of anticipated benefits
Quantitative and qualitative analysis, management reporting
Managing risks and regulatory issues associated with trade flows in Channels
Product capabilities information to be kept up-to-date and professionally documented for both internal and external audience, thus ensuring the available features and services are correctly commercialised.
This role reports to the Head of Channel Management for Trade.
Qualifications and Skills
Degree or Equivalent
At least 3-4 years experience in banking or relevant industries and an exposure to project management / product management
Candidate should have a deep understanding of Trade products including Traditional products and Supply Chain Finance products. Operational (hand on) experience of these products would be an added advantage.
Understanding of digital channels, mobile technology including the features / benefits of the products and services offered, and how those features benefit customer
Prior experience on Host 2 Host solutions would be preferable
Experience in conceptualising and articulating sustainable and cost efficient business solutions
Analytical, critical, and creative problem solving skills with an in-depth understanding of utilizing electronic delivery channels to meet business goals
Effective and persuasive communication including:
Expertise on English language (both written and spoken)
Attention to detail, ability to articulate without ambiguity
Quality documentation which may include management reporting, client-facing materials and business requirements definition
Oral presentation skills required.
Proven inter-personal skills to actively engage with cross-cultural teams across the globe in understanding client needs, training the frontline country staff, managing client queries and feedback etc
Demonstrates thorough understanding of a wide range of elements of the Bank’s business and the customers, industries, and partners with which the Bank is involved
