Senior Trade Compliance Analyst Hitachi Data Systems - Singapore

Job Description

Ensure compliance with all aspects of export laws and regulations in Singapore, Japan and U.S. with special attention to hardware, software and technology exports.
Develop, implement and maintain an Export Management System (EMS) at the Singapore APAC Distribution Center to ensure compliance with Singapore, Japan and U.S. regulations.
Research, prepare, submit and communicate the staus of Singapore export license applications in a timely manner to ensure continuity of HDS' product flow from the APAC Distribution Center.
Serve as primary contact with Singapore Customs to address inquiries and resolve challenges relating to Singapore Trade Regulations.
Audit APAC Distribution Center Export Strategic Good Program on a quarterly basis to identify gaps and create and implement remedial actions to close gaps and automate processes.
File required monthly reports with Singapore Customs for all shipments for the controlled items exported from APAC Distribution Center in full compliance with the export license requirements.
Monitor regulations and developments affecting the HDS APAC Distribution Center and communicate with Director of Global Trade Compiance in Santa Clara on such developments.
Provide training to appropriate HDS employees and Partners on the U.S. and Singapore Export Regulations and impact on thebusiness operations.
Represent HDS' APAC Distribution Center during export audits by Singapore Trade Authorities.
Oversee and ensure efficient and effective export screening processes and procedures, including monitoring of screening results, investigation of potential trade compliance issues ensuring follow up and closure.
Support and prepare necessary pre-audit document for HDS Corporate Trade Compliance team for Hitachi Ltd. annual APA Export Control Audit.
Perform accurate and timely review and release for Denied Party Screening potential "hits" at the APAC Call Centers.
Review sales order transaction in accordance with the online automated export screening tool for end user/end use proliferation requirements.
Validate Export Control Classification information and export license authorization to ensure compliance with U.S. and Singapore Export Regulations.

Desired Skills & Experience

At least 5-7 years direct trade experience relating to Singapore Government Regulations, Japan and U.S. Export Regulations.
At least 5-7 years industry experience working in a fast paced, high tech environment.
Strong project management and strategic leadership skills.
Language skills in Engish and Cantonese and/or Mandarin.
Must have excellent communication skills and ability to lead and influence cross functional teams.
Well developed business acumen/ability with ambiguity.
Ability with Government officials and represent HDS with authority on government matters.
Operational skills for Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, etc.) and Oracle Database.
