Reporting to: Vice President, Asia Pacific Finance (solid) and Vice President, Asia Pacific Delivery (functional)
Regional coverage: APAC
Primary Purpose of the Job:
Lead, audit projects and project controls ensuring proper accounting and policy compliance.
Responsible for ensuring the financial accuracy, project controls and compliance is achieved and institutionalized across the region that is aligned with group policies.
Instrumental in quality assurance in the areas of financial/KPI reporting, analysis and forecasting of projects.
From time to time, provide the finance business support on strategic sales engagement.
Manage and develop a team of project controllers residing in-country, ensuring consistent execution of mandate and integration of project controllers in the local business units.
Strong business partnering focus across the regional business units and functions to achieve effectiveness and driving results.
Key Tasks:
Establish/Implement standards and templates for systematic collection of delivery financial information. Set-up and leverage project/services financial system to enable accurate forecasts, improve revenues, margin and cash performance through better understanding and analysis of financial status & projection. Perform routine review & analysis of financial metrics, forecasts and actions related to Delivery financials to achieve set AOP targets.
Manages the Cadence: Planning, Budgeting, Forecasting and Reporting processes for projects/service activity. Support businesses in identification, analysis, trending of deviations in actual performance to budget/forecast, recommend & take part in corrective actions.
Perform financial risk, cost and compliance assessments. Report, track and objectively advise business unit and APAC Finance and Delivery VP of potential financial exposures (risks, cost over-runs, execution slippages) as part of monthly cadence. Establish a robust tracking system of agreed mitigation plans and accountable for providing early warning of provision/reserve impact.
Preparation and review of project provisions. Responsible for submission and obtaining approvals from APAC VP Delivery and Finance for booking of provisions.
Lead a team of project controllers and monitor project accounting, planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting process from internal Kick Off to the Project close out. Participate as an active member of the team in monthly Project Reviews, communicate issues and actions, and aid in accurate forecasting.
Support month-end reporting in terms of POC method, utilization, factory loading, ad hoc reporting and CQA support. Ensure project compliance with systems policies and procedures (like GDO procedure, DOA) as well as application of business and system processes (SAP).
Creates and maintains accurate and thorough financial reporting of forecasts and actual results by project and service contract. Provides relevant (timely & accurate) variance analysis.
- Receivables / Unbilled POC management and billing
- Cash flow management
- Managing and reporting Factory load
- Aligning the physical progress with the financials of the project
- Tax management
Coordinates and drives invoicing and cash collections on projects. Participates in weekly cash calls owns or co-owns resolution of disputed items in coordination with Delivery Project managers.
Provide business and sales support on key/strategic pursuits.
Work with regional finance and delivery teams to establish GEET labor rates on an annual basis and maintain overhead recovery model. Monitors actual and proposes adjustments to GEET rates if needed.
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Engineering. MBA qualification is preferred.
At least 12 years in Finance, of which 7 years of actual project accounting/controller capacity
Large and complex multinational experience desirable
Strong POC accounting knowledge
Sound SAP and Business warehouse user experience; HFM experience strongly desired
Able to communicate effectively across organizations and functions
