Job Description:
The Director, Regional Finance oversees the Regional and Client Finance Team and partners with Regional and Client Account Leads to ensure the profitability of the region and client engagements.
Some of the things we’d like you to do:
Plan and direct all financial operations for the region, offices, and clients
Partner with the Accounting and FP&A teams to deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts and reporting including P&L, utilization, staff sharing and revenue to date
Utilize reports to make evaluations around the fiscal health of the agency and identify areas of improvement in terms of costs, budgets, trends and profit opportunities
Create and manage all revenue forecasting materials and make recommendations for course corrections to ensure the business meets or exceeds strategic operational, revenue, and margin goals
Provide income statement variance explanations for actuals compared to contract, budget, forecast and prior year
Perform detailed reviews of monthly client financial statements, including fee reconciliations in partnership with FP&A and Accounting
Oversee and drive the creation of strategic business plans in partnership with the Regional MD
Provide senior-level counsel to Regional Directors, Account Directors and practice leaders on client and organizational budget issues
Serve as a key point of contact for senior-level clients in procurement and finance issues
Negotiate contracts and partner with Legal to ensure the agency’s interests are protected
Partner with Accounting and FP&A to properly align the regional finance team’s capacity to achieve strategic team objectives
Support the internal control audit process and resolve audit issues
Provide regular updates to the Global Finance Director on regional performance, including strategic thoughts and guidance on region performance.
A Bit About You
Bachelors Degree (finance/accounting preferred)
Fluent English, Japanese desirable
10 - 15 years’ finance experience
5 - 10 years’ Agency experience
Ability to work in a team environment that promotes collaboration; but also capable of working independently when needed
Exceptional verbal & written communication skills and adept at communicating effectively across all levels
Ability to think on your feet
A passion to help and develop people - making yourself readily available to answer questions and offer support, and the ability to motivate people to succeed
Strong work ethic - highly organized, diligent and attentive to detail
Proficiency in Excel
