Job Description:
This is a management position with regional responsibilities including leading a team in Client Incentive Operations.
Client incentives are strategically important for Visa Inc. and the accounting related to client incentives is inherently a higher risk area in the Company’s financial statements because of the prevalence of estimates in amounts recorded. This position will be responsible to successfully translate emerging client incentive strategies, business relationships and initiatives into financial statement impacts.
This leader will align through Finance and other key stakeholders for efficient application of Visa’s client incentive accounting policies.
This leader will continuously improve the communication, tools, and the controls framework used for assessment and communication of financial impacts of client incentive arrangements. This includes fostering ongoing interaction with sales, FP&A, Accounting Policy, Controllership and geographic Finance executives.
This leader will manage, review, and be responsible for the efficiency, accuracy and completeness of the following day-to-day activities performed by team members during the lifecycle of the incentive arrangement:
Assess Visa’s contractual obligations and determine appropriate accounting treatment for newly executed incentive agreement
Review monthly estimates of amortization expense and payment schedules per contractual terms and Visa’s accounting policy
Review excel models to calculate overall contractual commitments, ensuring that all contractual obligations have been comprehensively addressed
Review ongoing contractual performance and update future forecasted performance estimates as necessary
Responsible for reporting variance between forecasted and actual contractual performance
Assess activity following quarter-end and conclude as to whether subsequent event disclosure is required as part of the Company’s quarterly SEC reporting cycle
Provide guidance related to appropriate accounting treatment of incentive arrangements to FP&A prior to contract execution as requested
Manage the quarterly review and monitoring of quarterly significant accounting issues including contract impairment indicators, value-in-kind (VIK) reporting, and reporting of significant new contracts, contractual adjustments or amendments.
Establish and measure appropriate performance metrics to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of team processes.
As a member of the controllership leadership team, actively participate on cross-functional teams related to standardization of contractual terms and further automation of client incentive processes.

Strong analytical skills and ability to work under pressure in a high volume and fast paced dynamic environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 8+ years of progressive experience at a publicly held global company.
CPA and MBA highly desirable
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Possess business acumen to understand high level corporate initiatives yet be able to manage day-to-day tactical decisions to ensure delivery of all key initiatives.
Strong leadership, change and project management experience and exceptional organizational skills.
Experience with Oracle GL and knowledge of advanced Excel or database skills
