Job description
As a Marketing manager, you are a fully dedicated business leader, shaping the future of one of our many Google products. Whether you're on a consumer product (like Gmail, Search, Maps, Chrome, Android) or a business product (AdWords, AdSense, DoubleClick, Analytics), you take part in a complete marketing experience as you lead every facet of the product's journey. From determining positioning, naming, competitive analysis, feature prioritization and external communications, you help shape the voice of the product and help it grow a loyal consumer base. This means you work with a cross-functional team across sales, corporate communications, legal, webmasters, product development, engineering and more. The role enables you to shape the product development process, organize product launches from beginning to end and form future marketing strategy.
As the APAC Regional Marketing Strategy and Insights Manager for YouTube, you will ensure our key APAC markets (Japan, India) are setup for success. You will work hand-in-hand with the regional and country marketing leaders to ensure that our strategy and campaigns are positioned for strong success in our key markets. You will lead actionable international research and analysis in the markets, and build robust campaign tracking and measurement in each market to ensure we test, learn and iterate quickly. Additionally, in one of the most rapidly evolving landscapes in consumer technology, you will lead international industry and competitive analysis and provide strategic recommendations that ensure YouTube is well positioned to meet existing and new competitive challenges.
Responsibilities
Understand local market conditions in YouTube’s key markets to ensure our marketing strategy and execution is successful globally.
Be the APAC liaison between the global S&I team and the local regions and countries. Collaborate with country leaders to field effective local research as part of global research programs. Collaborate with country/regions to build effective local tracking systems for campaign measurement by identifying local vendors and platforms. Work closely with the regional and country teams to understand key trends and market conditions to ensure strategic and executional success in Japan, India and other markets in APAC.
Drive communication and build simple lightweight process to inform and align with the countries/regions for success. Drive APAC analysis and reporting with the regions/countries.
Understand the APAC competitive landscape and provide strategic analysis and recommendation to YouTube’s execs and leaders.
Analyze APAC industry and competitive reports and data, stay abreast of competitive news and announcements, and prepare monthly reports on key and emerging competition for YouTube.
Minimum Qualifications
BA or BS Degree or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
MBA
5 years relevant work experience with a proven track record of successful strategic leadership with an international focus
Expertise with the video / entertainment industry and ecosystem, its players and technologies
Ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally across all levels of management within YouTube and within customer organizations
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced dynamic environment.
Outstanding written and oral communication skills in Japanese and English
