Thomson Reuters Oil Analytics is looking for a dynamic individual to join the team as a Researcher covering the Asia Naphtha market.

Job Scope:
The successful candidate is expected to assist in the coverage of the Asia Naphtha market from both a Cargo Flows and Forward Curves Pricing perspective.

Flows – Thomson Reuters Oil Analytics is building an innovative, groundbreaking analytical tool to make real-time assessments of oil cargo flows by demand region over the past two years, with 2014 being the year when the Asian module is expected to be fully launched and operational. The Asia Naphtha module is the 3rd and penultimate one.
The successful candidate will learn to make the daily real-time Flow assessments, working with the Clean Oil Products team, by studying and making assessments vessel flow movements. He/She will be required to interact with market participants regularly, as part of the assessment process.

Curves – The successful candidate will also be required to make assessments of Forward-Curve price levels at specific, pre-defined timestamps up to three times a day. This requires the successful candidate to source for price values from the market throughout the day and make assessments for each publication time, ensuring that the curves are accurate, timely and properly assessed following established methodology.

The position sits within the Commodities & Energy segment of Thomson Reuters’ Trading Division, which serves the financial community; allowing all market participants to connect, access rich content and trade in a secure environment. By offering customers a combination of the Eikon desktop, the Elektron network, Content and Transactions we support every aspect of the trade process and enable innovation across all markets and asset classes.
Desired Skills and Experience
Applicants should have a good Degree, be numerate with good Excel skills, proficient in English, eager to learn and contribute, as well as be a good team player.
Experience in the financial industry, preferably in a trading environment, is a bonus.
