Senior Manager - iOS Sales Strategy - South Asia - Apple - Singapore

The Senior Manager iOS Sales Strategy, South Asia is responsible for developing the strategic and commercial direction of iOS sales within South Asia through delivery of innovative business ideas, capabilities and processes.

The Apple iOS ecosystem that has been developed in the South Asian region is characterized by a strong and broad range of partnerships forged between Apple, regional carriers and channel partners across multiple territories, formats and customer segments.

Specific market development strategies, including the development of these relationships, have seen Apple achieve sales growth, customer satisfaction and brand preference.

In order to greatly accelerate market share growth and fully leverage this regional market opportunity Apple will expand its organisational architecture dedicated to South Asia. This business unit will evolve and grow the current Apple iOS sales performance to be the best amongst its peers in Asia Pacific and be a leader for best practice globally.

Key Qualifications

Long-standing (10 years ), successful work experience combined with excellent market knowledge (preferably in the management consulting, telecommunication, IT or adjacent markets)
Track record of business or commercial strategy thinking and delivery, and sales or marketing experience including responsibility for a large business, country or region
Excellent knowledge of the market, distribution channels and competitors within the South Asia region
The ability to move from strategy to execution and understand the importance of commercial / analytical rigor in all aspects of planning and delivery.
Highly regarded for your commercial approach, analytical skills and ability to develop new opportunities, with internal and external partners via negotiation, possesses a proven track record of delivering outstanding results in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment.
Excellent communication skills; leadership presence and confidence
Experience of working with ambiguity and able to demonstrate an adaptive approach (to circumstances and cultural requirements)
Collaborator and engaging leader who get the best from your staff
Experience with balancing and managing conflicting requirements (e.g. needs of different channel partners in country) to achieve positive business outcome and customer satisfaction

Description

Help create the vision for Apple for South Asia:
• Work with the South Asian iOS leadership team to build the sales vision for Apple. Apple will refocus on driving channel performance through smarter and more efficient structures, partnerships and processes.
• Ability to lead the South Asia iOS team through structured business planning process - from structured thinking to outcome, annually and quarterly.
• Lead the strategic direction of iPhone and iPad sales in the region, in formal planning sessions, informal thinking sessions and in daily execution.
• Be the strategic voice of Apple South Asia into key Apple internal teams and organisations; including those located in Apple HQ; expressing requirements and dependencies as well as sharing ideas developed in South Asia.
• Lead the development of regional channel ecosystem roadmaps to complement existing Apple products ? the ecosystem roadmap will contain apps, platforms, content, service and accessories and third party engagement.
• Develop these roadmaps with a yearly horizon, instead of quarterly.
• Develop new elements of the ecosystem roadmap to work exclusively with carrier and channel partners in market amplifying our ?most wanted? status with customers.

People Leadership:
• To ensure the Sales Strategy team will contain the necessary talent in the right positions to execute the strategy.
• To ensure the right environment where all employees can get things accomplished ? the team must be motivated, communication must be strong, the amount of common knowledge must be significant, and the context must be clear.

Deliver innovation and new paths and partners to market:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive open channel execution model for South Asia across multiple markets, dramatically increasing iOS channel footprint.
• This will include: (1) Developing a new distribution model across the region leveraging the unique product, ecosystem and margin strengths of Apple products, (2) Creating innovative new financial products, allowing greater access to Apple products, (3) Developing new supply-side thinking ? optimising efficiency in distribution and channel management.

Improving the quality of Apple execution with all carrier partners:
• The Apple South Asia team will be leveraging existing and developing new IP to ensure Apple provides the most effective strategic account management for our carrier partners including a focus on customer lifetime value (LTV).
• An experience and ecosystem focus that helps carriers drive end user desire based on (1) Exciting new third party and local content, (2) Refreshed tariff models and proposition strategies, as well as (3) Innovative ways to improve access to Apple product; including improved carrier channel performance and management.
• This role will lead the thinking that will deliver for these new products; services and experiences, clear market entry and growth strategies, plus a compelling proposition to the end-user.

Ensure we have innovative and effective initiatives and plans developed and deployed to extend the demand life-cycle of our products:
• The Sales Strategy team will identify (new) potential customer segments most likely to buy, assist carriers develop (data driven) compelling ideas and motivate them to also determine the most effective ways to reach those potential customers and then for execution via country iOS sales teams.

Improve iPad focus and execution with our carrier and distributor partners:
• The iPad is key asset for our carrier partners to drive customer usage and enjoyment; through their networks; extending their business model in terms of ARPU and proposition. The Sales Strategy team will develop deep insight and capability in how Apple can create this value and deliver it on a consultative basis.
• Furthermore the iPad has huge sales opportunity within open channels in the South Asia region; Apple needs to ensure that the channel and end-user proposition is developed (and tailored) for the South Asian region.

Education

Relevant tertiary education or industry qualifications would be required
